The mission of the library/media program of Portland Public Schools is to promote literacy and ensure students and staff are effective users of ideas and information, equipped with the necessary skills and desire to become lifelong learners.

CIRCULATION: Students are responsible for taking care of and returning items they check out from the school library. Overdue fines are not charged, but replacement fees are requested for lost or damaged materials. Families unable to pay the full amount may request to make alternative arrangements by speaking to the librarian. Overdue notices are given  to students bi-weekly. Notices regarding any items that are one month overdue are sent home.
